kits.part 1.

This is is kind of close to a craft segment. Well, about as close to a craft segment as this blog will ever get. However I do dream of being crafty. I wish I had the time, the skill, the motivation. But let me say I do love helping people, I love making people happy and I like surprising people, it is so fun! I like to think that I have some good ideas, but I'll leave that up to the vast internet to decide.
Here is what I have and I've done them all... There have been
  • Wisdom-Teeth Kits
  • Breakup Kits
  • Stress-Relief Kits
  • Sorry-For-Your-Loss Kits
  • I-Miss-You Kits
  • Life-Is-Going-To-Be-Ok Kits
  • Yay! You're-Allowed-To-Date-Now Kits (AKA - 16th Birthday)
  • Thanks-For-Being-An-Awesome-Teacher Kit
Kits.Kits.Kits. And they are all so fun!

To begin I want to outline what is in every kit. Please keep in mind that it is subject to change!
  1. Wisdom-Teeth Kits: This kit was for my friends who got their wisdom teeth out. I know from experience it is not pleasant, so I did this for them. So they didn't feel bad about looking like chipmunks and missing out on their wisdom. (yes, I know I'm hilarious)
  • jello (to eat, because chewing is hard)
  • crazy straw (they can't use it right away, because sucking isn't allowed. But, it is pretty cool)
  • baby spoon (since their mouths are swollen)
  • coloring book (to keep them entertained)
  • ice pack (for the swelling, plus if it's a cool one that makes it funner)
  • chocolate syrup (to make chocolate milk for their straws)
  • suduko book (another entertainment item)
I put all of this in a paper bag with bandaids and a card
I made this other kit for my friend Vanessa. She had the worst time, vomit and swollen and just awful.  I put it all in this adorable basket. Here is what she got.
  • icepacks
  • whiteboard and whiteboard markers (for communication since it hurt her throat to talk and saved her from moving her mouth)
  • two books - Nicholas Sparks' A Bend In The Road  and Gail Carson Levine's Fairest
  • movie - Cinderella starring Whitney Houston and Brandi
  • puzzle
  • jello
  • mashed potatoes
  • nail polish
2.  Break-Up Kit
Luckily, I have only had to do this once. Here's what I got:
  • eggs
  • chick flick (Invention of Lying)
  • card
  • chocolate
  • gaterade - to replenish the salt
  • gossip magazine
  • teddy
  • tissues
3. Stress-Releif Kit
  • pill bottle
  • fake prescription
  • candy pills
or if you choose to do it differently you can do the 7 day pill counter with a little something extra...
  • quote per day instead of prescription
I have also used
  • dibs icecream instead of candy with a prescription taped on top
4.   Sorry-For-Your-Loss Kit
When my friend's grandmother passed away I did a lot of reflection on what it felt like when my grandpa passed away. I didn't feel alot of support from my friends. My cousin's boyfriend showed up for the funneral. My other cousin had people texting her left and right and my friends said that sucks.. well, there was one person who madea  big deal of it. but we don't like to talk about him anymore. It turns out my feelings weren't the main concern. But I digress. I vowed I wouldn't do that
  • funeral potato casserole
  • card -- I think the card is the most important part. I address one to my friend and the other to her family. I think the card needs to have a personal touch. What I mean by this is a memory of her grandma or something she said about her grandma. it shows you actually care
  • hot coco for comfort on the bad days
  • buns for the casserole
